This week, Reception has enjoyed decorating the classroom and big space. Miss McKendry brought in her special Christmas decorations from home for the girls to put around the room. The girls really liked hanging the ornaments on Receptions beautiful stick Christmas tree. While decorating the classroom the girls enjoyed listening to festive Christmas music. We all had a lot of fun and the classroom looks amazing!
On Wednesday we had our annual Swimming Carnival. We had been practising very hard the week before to get ready for the carnival. We swam in 4 events. The 1st event was the 14m freestyle. The 2nd event was the 14m backstroke. The 3rd event was the 14m kickboard and the 4th and last event was the 14m noodle race. Here are just a few pictures of us enjoying our carnival.
Olivia (Ella’s mum) is a beauty therapist and came in to talk to us about health and beauty. We took turns in pairs being beauty therapist and clients and Olivia taught us how to give a scalp massage and how to paint our nails. She gave us all special packs which contained: a body ball (to use in the shower) to help make our skin lovely and smooth, lip gloss to keep our lips soft and moisturised, a buffer for helping to prepare our nails and pink nail polish. Here are some photos of us being beauty therapists!
This Term the Reception girls have decided to set their stage up as a hair and nail salon. We were very lucky as lots of mums and dads sent in items that we could use. We had fun placing hair curlers, spray bottles, brushes, nail polish, hair ties and hair clips on the stage. Here are some photos of us setting up the stage and playing on it.
Reception attended the Junior School Assembly today. There were three more girls who received special awards. The first award was for excellent contribution during the octopus discussion. The second award was for a magnificent News presentation of the Jabberwocky poem. The third award was for a fantastic effort during writing sessions. Well done to those girls!!
